OVERVIEW

Operation of an excavator requires a certificate of competency. In this unit, you will learn the skills and knowledge required to conduct excavator operations.

  • Operate the excavator and use attachments
  • Understand excavator types and characteristics
  • Understand excavator capabilities and limitations
  • Calculate safe working loads
  • Interpret drawings and sketches
  • Apply site and equipment safety requirements
  • Carry out basic earthworks calculation

PRE-REQUISITES

  • Ability to comprehend the English language

  • Safety footwear

DURATION

1 full day – variable dependent upon applicants ability

TRAINING & ASSESSMENT

Two (2) assessments will be conducted at the completion of training – Knowledge and Practical Assessments.

LICENCES & CERTIFICATION

This course is a Nationally Recognised Training and applicants’ deemed competent at the conclusion of the course will be provided with a Statement of Attainment and a wallet-size competency card.
